N-400 Interview Prep
This week's N-400 focus is the family section — spouse, children, and prior marriages. USCIS asks these questions to confirm your marriage is real (if you are applying based on marriage to a U.S. citizen) and to check that any prior marriages ended legally. We'll walk through what USCIS looks for in class — no documents to bring in advance.
N-400 checklist for this week
- Bring your marriage certificate — original or certified copy
- Bring divorce decrees or death certificates ending any prior marriages (yours and your spouse's)
- List every child by full legal name, date of birth, country of birth, and current address
- If applying based on marriage, bring proof you live together: joint lease, joint bank statements, kids' school records
